As long as you are working 9-5 jobs, you will receive stylish insults and disrespect. It doesn't matter if you are working in an office, boutique, or organization. The truth is that 9-5 jobs come with insults and disrespect. If you are doubting me, ask the people working in an office. They will tell you what the Management and HR are doing to them. Behind those smiley faces in the workplace lies tiredness and Exhaustion.
I am currently working in a school,l and you won't believe it when I tell you I received a stinging insult today. The management of the school does not even want me to be sitting down to rest. He wants me to be on the board always teaching. After all, they are paying me. He is not telling me this is what he wanted, but his actions are speaking louder. Okay, what do I mean? When I am in class, the man loves moving around. He monitors everything I do. In fact, he does it to the extent that if he sees me sitting, he won't talk,k but the next time he will come, the next thing he will say is, "Are the learners not writing?" I will have to explain to him that I am waiting for them to finish up.
Even after telling him that, he was telling me to wipe the board off for the slow writers just in a bid to keep me writing on the board. To be sincere, he is not even paying me up to N50,000, but still, they are overusing me. Well, I am not complaining because I don't have any source of income, and there is this saying that "Money Lies in Insults, Sacrifice and Exhaustion". You will have to receive all these insults before you can pay your bills. I know many people will be like, " Why don't you quit? Of course, I have all the reasons to quit, but if I quit? Who will be giving me money? Nobody. And I know what it means to be broke. I can remember two years ago when I had the worst moments of my life. I was starving not because I wasn't working but because the salary was nothing to write home about. I was very lean. I don't wish to go back there.
Here are 4 Reasons why you should not quit your job yet, even after all the Insults, Exhaustion, queries,s and the likes
1. Nobody will pay your bills:
Though your salary might be very small, ll and you feel they are overusing you in your workplace. Yes, the feeling is valid, but you are not the only one stressed in your workplace. If you go to other organizations, you will see worse cases, and you will be thanking God at last that yours is better.
Most of the people telling you to quit won't pay your bill. After they advise you to quit, when bills start rolling in, they won't be there to save you because they also have their own responsibilities. Hence, this is the first reason why you should not quit your current 9-5 job yet, except you have seen a better offer; then you may move.
2. Other Opportunities might arise in your workplace:
There is this saying that an idle man is the devil's workshop. When you give your best to your work, definitely other opportunities will arise. Hard work beats talent even when talent doesn't work hard. This is very true. It doesn't matter if you are more skilful and talented than other workers in an organization if you are not diligent enough and if you don't work hard. Someone who isn't as skillful as you but works hard will be noticed. Yes, you might be thinking your job is exhausting, tiring, and the like, but do you know that people are looking at you?
Someone right there in your organization or one of your customers might recommend you to another job with higher pay when the need arises. Or better still, someone in your organization might teach you other ways to make extra income for yourself while working with your current employer.
3. Your Job is training You:
Funny enough, your current job might be training you to be patient. Handle misunderstandings, handle conflicts with maturity. Sometimes, the difficult things we pass through teach us the important things about life, such as patience, dedication, how to handle conflicts,s and likes. Your Job trains you on all these things. At the end of the day, when you finally have the opportunity to quit your job, you will be thankful you went through the process in your former organization as an employee.
4. You can use your current Job as a ladder to your Upliftment:
It doesn't matter how much you earn in your current job; you can still save a portion of it to upskill yourself. See, you must acquire skills if you want to be free from the shackles of 9-5 jobs. Or perhaps, you must save up to start a business if you don't want to learn a skill. It is not everybody who will learn a skill; some are destined to be business owners.
However, whatever you plan to do, ensure you learn it properly before venturing into it. The reason for this is that the world is competitive out there, and if you learn a skill and you are not very good at it, you will probably just be a figurehead. Trust me, customers won't rate you well. One thing people don't know is that your customers study you. They know the people who are good at what they do and those who are average.
Hence, in whatever you want to do, ensure you learn it very well. If it is business, ensure you know about the business very well before venturing into it. This is one big mistake some people do; they just dapple into any business because funds are available. At the end of the day, they have nothing to show for it.
When is the Right Time To Leave Your 9-5 Job?
The best time you can leave your 9-5 job is when your side hustle, business,s or skill is already paying you times 2 or times 3 of your current job. Also, don't just quit when the payment starts coming in; ensure you have built those skills or business to a certain level that you know that the business or skill is strong enough and it brings in constant money. Don't quit your current job yet when the money coming from your side hustle, business,s or skills is not regular. If it is once in a while, don't quit yet.
Lastly, ensure you have saved a reasonable amount of money from your side hustle before you quit your job. This is so because if anything goes wrong, you will still have aa littlecash you can use to take care of yourself.
Conclusion
Most people quit their jobs untimely due to the frustration in their workplace. I always tell people, frustration from working place is everywhere. Once you become an employer, you might actually do worse because you are paying them and you will want to see the reason why you are paying them.
